ARTVILLE
"Art village without borders, where collaboration replaces competition, where artists across Europe unite to create, inspire, and sustain the soul of our society."
THE VISION: With support from the European Union, European Theatre and Film Institute,
is creating Artville, an ambitious cultural initiative designed to unite artists across
Europe into one vibrant, connected neighbourhood.
Across the countries surrounding Belgium, there is a rich landscape of theatres,
art institutions, dance companies, film studios, cultural associations, music ensembles,
jazz bands, and orchestras.
Many of these groups work with limited resources, some supported by municipalities
or regional funds, others relying entirely on private means.

THEATRE OUT OF THE BOX
Experience 'theatre out of the box' by stepping into the world of Anton Chekhov to decode human nature and master the art of storytelling for the modern world.
The ETFI Theatre Practicum is a hands-on workshop exploring “theatre out of the box” through
brilliant storytelling of selected scenes from Anton Chekhov’s The Three Sisters. Alongside
Shakespeare, Chekhov stands among the most performed playwrights in history, staged across
Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Australia. These two masters captured the essence of human
nature in ways that remain relevant across centuries.

FILMMAKERS THEATRE
Module Theater: Reconnecting future filmmakers with the multidisciplinary roots of creative storytelling
Module Theater is an innovative training program for film schools, animation departments, and
game design courses (2D and 3D) that reintroduces the power of theater into the education of
future filmmakers and animators. It draws inspiration from the Theater of Filmmakers
movement of the 20th century, a program that once existed in many European countries and
beyond. This movement was based on the understanding that cinema was born from theater,
and that theatrical practice could deeply enrich cinematic storytelling.
