THEATRE OUT OF THE BOX

Experience 'theatre out of the box' by stepping into the world of Anton Chekhov to decode human nature and master the art of storytelling for the modern world.

The ETFI Theatre Practicum is a hands-on workshop exploring “theatre out of the box” through brilliant storytelling of selected scenes from Anton Chekhov’s The Three Sisters. Alongside Shakespeare, Chekhov stands among the most performed playwrights in history, staged across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Australia. These two masters captured the essence of human nature in ways that remain relevant across centuries.

FILMMAKERS THEATRE

Module Theater: Reconnecting future filmmakers with the multidisciplinary roots of creative storytelling

Module Theater is an innovative training program for film schools, animation departments, and game design courses (2D and 3D) that reintroduces the power of theater into the education of future filmmakers and animators. It draws inspiration from the Theater of Filmmakers movement of the 20th century, a program that once existed in many European countries and beyond. This movement was based on the understanding that cinema was born from theater, and that theatrical practice could deeply enrich cinematic storytelling.

ARAL SEA PROJECT

Through theatre, film, and dialogue, we shed light on one of the world’s most urgent
ecological challenges: the near disappearance of the Aral Sea, once the fourth-largest
inland sea on Earth.

Together, we envision a small-scale yet impactful initiative to promote
environmental sustainability through the power of theatre and film.
Dry Tears: Aral Sea Legend, narrated in English by Emma Thompson.

The documentary tells the story of the Aral Sea, once the world’s
fourth-largest inland sea, now almost vanished due to human-driven
environmental catastrophe. Filmed on its shores, it captures the history,
Together, we can inspire change, foster awareness,
and mobilize communities toward meaningful action.
